Two new botanical extracts for use in sun care, after-sun care and "antiaging" formulations, were added to the product line. Rosemary T3 Complex™ is an enriched “Triterpenoid Rosemary Extract” containing Ursolic acid, Betulinic acid and Oleanolic acid, in a standardized proprietary composition. Laboratory studies showed that this combination of triterpenoids has a significantly higher antioxidant property as compared to the pure actives. Recommended use levels in creams and lotions is 0.1-0.5 % w/w.
Gallnut extract is a polyphenol rich extract derived from the galls of the Quercus infectoria tree. In vitro studies show that this natural extract is an efficacious antioxidant and an efficient inhibitor of collagenase and hyaluronidase, enzymes that catalyze the break down of connective tissues. The extract would therefore potentially help in maintaining healthy skin texture and tone. Recommended use levels in creams and lotions is 0.05 to 0.3%
